Bollywood Singer Kanika Kapoor who fell into trouble last week after FIR was filed against her by the chief medical officer (CMO) of Lucknow due to negligence for attending various social events in the city last week despite being infected with the coronavirus, is again tested positive for coronavirus which was conducted on Monday.
She has been quarantined in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute (SGPGI) hospital in Lucknow. In an interview with TOI, Kanika Kapoor spoke up about poor hygiene and also alleged that the hospital room in which she was kept was full of dust and mosquitoes. However the Director of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Dr. RK Dhiman has rejected all the allegations and said that she has been getting the best of facilities and treatment by the hospital staff.
Earlier, FIR was lodged against her at Sarojini Nagar police station in Lucknow on charges of negligence for attending various social events in the city last week despite being infected with the coronavirus. This action was taken on the orders of District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash. Kanika has been booked under sections 188, 269, 270 of Indian Penal Code.
The total number of positive novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 467 on Monday, including eight deaths throughout the country.
