As Coronavirus spreads rapidly across India, government have declared that schools and colleges will be closed through out the country till the end of this month. The government is urging people to refrain from indulging in large gathering at any times. Some cities have imposed Section 144, where 4 or more than 4 people are not allowed to stay together.
Keeping this in mind, Many India’s edutech giant have come forward to provide free online classes till April end. BYJU’s in a statement said that as lakhs of students miss school due to closure of Schools, they have decided to make its app free for all of students studying from Class 1 to 12.
Students from Classes 1 to 3 can access Math and English lectures for free by downloading and registering on BYJU’s app and for those studying in Classes 4 to 12 can take free lessons of Mathematics and Science concepts on the BYJU’s app till April 30. Existing app users too can get the free content by updating the Byju’s learning app.
UNESCO has reported that more than 55 countries have closed schools and colleges nationwide, impacting over 516.6 million children due to the spread of the coronavirus and hence had proposed distance learning as one of the rescue plans for students.
Central Government and State government are trying their best to contain the spread of the virus. Sports like Cricket and other games are cancelled or postponed, shopping malls, parks, theatres, gyms are closed amid a rapid increase in cases of COVID-19, infection due to Novel Coronavirus, throughout the country.
COVID-19 oubreak began from a sea food market in Wuhan China in December last year and has claimed more than 6,685 lives and infected more than 174880 lakhs people since the outbreak began.
In India, total positive cases of Coronavirus stands at 129 so far and two people have died due to it.
